This race is between the Women's Varsity eights that have not qualified for Saturday's semi-finals. The race looks like Southern California will prevail over Yale and Oregon State, with William Smith following in a tight contest for 4th place over Williams, and Weslayan following in sixth.

USC is expected to move out on Oregon State and Yale in the 2nd 500 meters, and not increase its 1000 meter lead over them very much in the last 1000 meters. So, if Oregon State or Yale can stay closer to USC in the second 500 meter interval and be with USC at the 1000, this could be a barn burner finish.
