Race started on April 4, 2004 at 12:57.

The finishing times shown in the JAMCO report for this Men's Club Race are the official adjusted times provided by the Regatta Committee, after they took the starting line handicaps for each crew into account. As a result, the only split times for 500 meter intervals that are the actual split times for each crew are those for the second and third 500 meter intervals. Unless you know which crew had the oldest average age (and was the first crew to leave the start line) and you also know how many seconds later each of the other crews left the start line, you cannot determine the true splits for the first or last 500 meter intervals, or the actual total time it took each crew to cover the 2000 meter course. For this reason, we have retained the JAMCO unofficial finishing times (unadjusted) for the Women's Club finals, and for the Saturday heats for both the Men's and Women's Club races. In those reports the last three interval splits are the actual splits for each of the crews.
