Conditions at Redwood Shores
April 29-30, 2000
Redwood City, California, USA
Saturday
On Saturday, competitors and fans enjoyed outstandingly beautiful conditions all day,
with fair skies and unusually calm wind. There was a slight tail wind in the morning
beginning with the California vs. Washington Men's JV 8+ race. Calm conditions returned
within five races and weather was not a factor for the rest of the day.
Sunday
On Sunday, the weather was even better, with flat water conditions throughout Sunday
races. There was no wind at all of any significance during the Big Row races between
California and Stanford and the times are a true indication of each crew's actual speed in
completely neutral conditions. Occasionally, in the late morning races, a slight tailwind
came up, but not enough to materially assist the crews.
There is no current on the landlocked Redwood Shores course. |
