Pre-race Analysis: AUT should win the gold medal, leading all the way. Despite the time reported for NED at 500m in the semis (on which the following report is based), I believe that time was incorrectly recorded by the timers and that NED will be right with the other leaders after 500 meters. GER needs to do better in the 3rd 500 meters to hold off SUI and stay in contention for the silver and bronze with NED and SUI. The call here is: AUT gold; NED silver: SUI for bronze, with GER a chance for bronze.
