Pre-race Analysis: AUS should qualify easily for Friday's A/B semi-finals. With 3 crews to qualify, both CAN and GBR should qualify for the A/B semi-finals also. The question is whether GRE and JPN actually faded in the last 500 meters of their respective preliminary races, or whether one or both of them backed off. If they backed off, then watch for a brutal last 500 fight for 3rd place between GRE, JPN and GBR.
